Beauty in Details
The composition of this piece spans across three layers, blending visual and conceptual elements from first aesthetic cues to its deeper narrative core:
The storyThe beauty of the overlooked
What can we learn about life when we see through new eyes?
Created as part of my BA fashion collection following a trip to Venice, this translucent jumpsuit was the showpiece that was built around the philosophy of highlighting the details that people don’t notice. Rather than drawing from the monuments and canals, the energy of the city also comes from the pigeons gathering in Piazza San Marco, especially the sudden, collective explosion of motion as hundreds of wings take flight at once.
Hand painting on silk organza directly allows the prints to flow dynamically around the contours of the body. As the wearer moves, the sheer layers shift against one another, creating an optical illusion mimicking the fluttering, rhythmic rush of wings.
By translating an everyday urban encounter into a wearable form, the garment serves as a study in movement and that beauty is rarely hidden, only overlooked.
