If you like something that lives in between realism and stylised illustration, with very fine and detailed linework while being entirely customised to your story, my work is for you.
-
Every project begins with a one-on-one conversation.
When bookings open, you can file your interest with the contact form and we will meet at the studio for your consultation where we will discuss how best to tell your story through your new tattoo.
If you decide to proceed, we will set a date after a non-refundable deposit is made. -
I know sometimes life gets in the way.
You can still file through the contact form and if there are any available consultation slots, an email will be on its way to your inbox. -
The Exclave is a private studio with only one tattooist and no walk ins so rest assured that you will have your privacy.
-
Of course you can but please keep it to one guest and inform me beforehand so that I can make sure that the studio is comfortable for the both of you.
The studio is not child safe as furniture may have sharp corners and there are small items on shelves that may be choking hazards. As it is also a tattoo space, there are exposed needles in the workspace so please refrain from bringing your child along. -
To ensure a hygienic working environment, genitals (and its surrounding areas) will not be tattooed on.
Areas that cannot be covered by clothing (face, hands, feet) are reviewed on a case by case basis. -
Any subject matter rooted in hate, intolerance, cultural insensitivity or religious iconography will be politely declined.
-
Please attach your original sketch in the contact form for review to see if I can tattoo it while retaining its character.
For another artist’s work, please seek permission from the artist before sending it along. -
You can drop me an email at bernice@theexclave.com.
If you get overwhelmed with the form or have trouble putting your idea into words, I recommend sending in pictures with keywords instead. A rough, albeit incomplete, framework is still helpful during our consultation. -
Tattoos are not billed by the hour.
Consultations are free and non-obligatory as a way to get our conversation started without stress.
Tattoos are priced according to complexity of the piece with variables like size, placement, colour options etc. starting at a minimum of SGD400.
A non-refundable deposit of SGD300 is required to secure your slot and goes entirely towards the design of your piece and the set up of your session. -
Work surfaces are always wiped down with a disinfectant before and after a session. Every surface that will be touched during a session will be barrier protected and all tattooing needles are pre-sterilised, individually blister packed and disposed after the session.
-
No, I recommend that you go back to these artists to ensure consistency in the style of the work.
-
No, there would be no numbing cream provided.
Please do not apply your own numbing cream before your session as it may affect the surface of the skin.

You can connect via the contact form and we will set up a consultation to get things going.
-
Aside from oil painting, I’m quite versatile with several traditional mediums like graphite, colour pencils, water colour painting as well as digital rendering (both raster and vector.)
During our consultation, we can discuss which medium(s) work best to bring your story to life. -
If it is a digital illustration, a flattened file (in formats like jpg) would be emailed to you upon completion. If you would like the working file with all layers intact and separated, please take note that this would be priced differently.
If it is work done by traditional methods, then the original piece will be sent to you. Please note that finished pieces will be sent unframed. -
Of course it is possible!
If there is something that you like from the archives that hasn’t been claimed or tattooed before, just indicate its name or case number in the contact form when you file your interest for a new tattoo.
If you do not live in Singapore and will be taking the design to another tattoo artist, please take note that the finished tattoo may not look like the original illustration as every artist has their own unique style. -
Original illustrations start from SGD500 and final price depends on variables like sizing, choice of medium(s) and complexity of the piece.

-
No, this is a one of a kind surface customisation service. You will have to provide your own belongings or objects.
-
I can paint on almost any surface while tattooing can be done on leather/synthetic leather. I can also source tshirt/fabric printing.
For ideas, there are some case studies in the archives.Objects would need to be brought in for evaluation to determine suitability for this service. For hygiene purposes, only new and unworn shoes would be tattooed/painted on.
Please note that paint is not food safe or dishwasher safe so cutlery and tableware are not recommended. -
If it is a tattoo that I’ve done before, unfortunately I cannot replicate it as the design was for another client. We can, however, discuss ways to modify and personalise a design better suited for your story.
If it is an original illustration in the archives that has not been purchased or used before, we can definitely apply it to your object.
-
Just indicate “Objects” in the contact form with pictures of what you have and details of what you would like and we can set up a consultation.

Customisations start from SGD500 and final price depends on variables like sizing, customisation method and complexity of the piece.
